Bio

Jane (Stubna) Irwin was professionally trained in ceramics and has been creating commissioned pieces for clients for nearly a decade. Irwin is committed to creating pieces that are unique and finely constructed. The result are works of art that are not only beautiful, but functional as well.

Irwin studied at Westminster College and Carlow University, graduating with a BA in Art and Art Education. She has worked extensively in the Pittsburgh area both as an artist and an art instructor/teacher.  For the past nine years, she has taken a pause from professional teaching to be a stay-at-home mother. During this time, Irwin has focused her energy on developing her own style of work, perfecting various wheel thrown forms, as well as exploring new combinations of wheel thrown and handbuilt pieces. She has continued to share her work and passion for art with her community through various volunteer positions and classes. Most recently, Irwin has begun accepting private lessons in her own studio to encourage fellow artists and share her knowledge in all art mediums.
